SLES is an anionic detergent. It is water soluble and has excellent foaming power. It can be used with other anionic, non-ionic or amphoteric surfactants. However, due to its anionic character, it should not be used with cationic components like cationic surfactants, cationic dyes, etc. SLES is an anionic surfactant which is widely used in rinse off products as a primary surfactant. In addition to excellent detergency (also referred as cleansing), it also has excellent emulsification and formability. It is major component of rinse-off products. It is compatible with all surfactants except cationic. SLES has good solvency, favorable hard-water resistance and high-biodegradation. SLES also facilitates ease of formulation and production. In addition, it also creates a degree of thickening to the final product formulation

Main Application:

1. SLES is a kind of anionic surfactant with function of:
- Cleaning
- Emulsifying
- Wetting
- Densifying
- Foaming

2. With good solubility, wide compatibility, strong resistance to hard water, high biodegradation, and low irritation to skin and eye. It is widely used in liquid detergent:
- Dishware
- Shampoo
- Bubble bath
- Hand cleaner and etc

3. SLES can also be used in washing powder and detergent for heavy dirty. Using SLES to replace LAS, phosphate can be saved or reduced, and general dosage of active matter is reduced

4. Beside detergent industry, it's also used in textile, printing and dyeing, oil and leather industries due it's function of lubricant, dyeing agent, cleaner, foaming agent and degreasing agent.
